The Contemporary Impact of Leo X
Leo wore many hats. During the Kulturkampf, (which transalates as class strugle), which was the period when German policies were interlocking with laws of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Leo X ended up lifting sanctions and being a hero to the people.
At the begininng of the Italian Wars, Pope Leo joined the League of Mechlan, which was an attempt by him, the king of Spain, and Maximillian to stop Louis XII of France. At first they failed, but after their failure, A new french prince attempted to capture Milan and the Kingdom of Naples. In the end, The french prince lost and again Leo X was a hero.
Other accomplishements of Pope Leo X was: A peace-maker in the War of Urbino, and his disagreements with Martin Luther which started the Great Reformation. Aslo notablely, he had a pet elephant. His Name was Hanno.
